Zach Bryan announces separation from Brianna Chickenfry

After rumors swirled about a possible breakup between the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and podcast host, Zach Bryan officially announced his split from his girlfriend Brianna LaPaglia, better known as Brianna Chickenfry, on Instagram just a few minutes ago.

The couple has been together since July 2023 after meeting at the ACM Awards in May of that year. Since then, they have been extremely public about their relationship with LaPagila, making multiple appearances at Bryan's shows, both on stage and in the audience.

Additionally, she famously stood up for Bryan after he was accused of backing out of an appearance at Noah Kahan's Fenway Park show last summer.

However, all good things must come to an end. In an Instagram story posted a few minutes ago, Bryan said: “I want to address something: Brianna and I have separated and I respect and love her from the bottom of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and I will always thank her for that. I've personally had an incredibly tough year and have had to go through some pretty bad things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us if we took different paths. I am not perfect and never will be. Please respect Brianna's privacy and space, and if you have him in your heart, mine too. To all that I am and to everyone I have let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I have let down people who love me and especially myself.”

Bryan's statement here reflects his reaction following his Twitter controversy between Taylor Swift and Kanye West, which led to him deleting his Twitter account entirely. After receiving backlash for claiming he prefers Kanye's music over Taylor's, the “Something in the Orange” singer said he was “going through a tough time in my own life” and also said he's getting one “I’m going to take a break from “tweeting stupid things” while he finishes his tour.

As previously mentioned, this statement is based on previous rumors that the couple broke up weeks ago, largely due to the fact that Bryan was seen on the dating app Raya.

Unlike standard dating apps like Hinge and Tinder, Raya is an app primarily aimed at celebrities and requires user authentication. This means that a random person can't simply have created an account pretending to be the “I Remember Everything” singer.

Additionally, LaPagila shared a handwritten poem on Instagram yesterday with the following lines: “You will believe that life is cruel if you carry on while your feet are stuck. You will find people and moments to blame for your concrete feet. Then comes the morning when you wake up and realize that things are moving on. Life isn’t cruel, your feet are.”

It's a well-known fact that Bryan has used the phrase “concrete feet” in many of his songs, most notably in “From Austin” and most notably in his Grammy-winning duet with Kacey Musgraves, “I Remember Everything,” so it's safe to say to assume that the poem was written about the 28-year-old singer/songwriter.

So far, LaPagila has not commented on the now public separation.
