Idaho Falls man dies after being 'severely beaten'; Police are looking for suspects

IDAHO FALLS — A 50-year-old grandfather was killed after police say he was severely beaten and left to die on the sidewalk Saturday night.

Bonneville County Coroner Rick Taylor identified the deceased as Alejandro Paredas-Hurtado of Idaho Falls.

According to Idaho Falls police, Paredas-Hurtado was found with “serious injuries” on the sidewalk along the west side of Northgate Mile near the intersection with May Street around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

“He was a brother, husband, father, friend and the greatest grandpa you could have,” according to the GoFundMe. “Our family is asking for anyone who can donate to help us with medical bills and funeral costs during this difficult time.”

Anyone who was in the area at this time or earlier in the evening, whether driving by or elsewhere, and saw anything that may be helpful to this investigation is asked to call the IFPD at Idaho State Police at (208) 529 If contact Police Dispatch -1200.

Information can also be reported anonymously to East Idaho Crime Stoppers at ifcrime.org. Tipsters who report information to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
