IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – A man was found brutally beaten on the sidewalk of Northgate Mile in Idaho Falls late Saturday evening. The victim was identified as 50-year-old Alejandro Paredes-Hurtado of eastern Idaho.

According to Idaho Falls police, the 50-year-old died from his injuries.

Around 9:30 p.m., the man was found on the sidewalk on the west side of Northgate Mile near the intersection with May Street. He was severely beaten and suffered serious injuries.

His daughter-in-law, Paola Guzman, wrote in a post to the Life in Idaho Falls Facebook group:

“Alejandro was hurt in the most cruel way and left behind so many broken, heartbroken hearts… He was a brother, husband, father, friend and the greatest grandpa anyone could have.”

Idaho Falls Police are asking for the community's help as they investigate.

Anyone who was in the area, whether driving by or not, around 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, and saw anything that may be helpful to this investigation is asked to call (208) 529-1200 to contact Idaho Falls Police Dispatch.

Information can also be reported anonymously to East Idaho Crime Stoppers at IFCrime.org. Tipsters who report information to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.

The Idaho Falls Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that occurred last night and is seeking information to assist in the investigation.

Around 9:30 p.m., a man was found on the sidewalk on the west side of Northgate Mile near the intersection with May Street. The man was severely beaten and suffered serious injuries.

Anyone who was in the area at this time or earlier in the evening, whether driving by or elsewhere, and saw anything that may be helpful to this investigation is asked to call Idaho State Police at (208)529 If contact Police Dispatch -1200.

Information can also be reported anonymously to East Idaho Crime Stoppers at IFCrime.org. Tipsters who report information to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
