The Washington Commanders had a scare on Sunday when rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels landed awkwardly on his chest and was taken out of the game. Commanders indicated a rib injury and Daniels did not return.

Washington won the game against Carolina 40-7, so Daniels did not have to return. During Sunday's game, Daniels' mother tweeted that her son was fine. Daniels returned to his teammates on the sideline after going to the locker room for an X-ray.

After the game, head coach Dan Quinn said he had no update on Daniels. However, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler hinted at good news for Daniels and the Commanders.

On Monday, Fox NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported the latest on Daniels.

That's good news. However, Washington will play it safe with Daniels. The Commanders won't bring him back for next week's showdown with the Chicago Bears and No. 1 pick Caleb Williams if he's not 100%.

Quinn will speak to the media on Monday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
