Chargers Cardinals Week 7 Game Preview

The Chargers and Cardinals will meet under the bright lights Monday Night Football.

Arizona kicks off at 6:00 p.m. PT.

The Bolts are two-point favorites and the over/under for Monday night's game is 43.5 points.

Here are five final thoughts before Week 7:

The NFL is full of numbers, statistics and data.

But you don't have to be an expert to figure out that a 4-2 record looks (and feels) exponentially better than a 3-3 record.

As the Bolts prepare for a Week 7 road game at Arizona, this is the opportunity waiting for them.

“It’s huge,” safety Alohi Gilman said. “It gives you the opportunity to create a little more confidence and momentum. It can help you even more, especially on Monday evenings.”

The Chargers currently sit second in the AFC West and also hold a Wild Card spot in the early playoffs.

Two Chargers executives stressed the importance of continuing to get better this week.

“We have to find a way to keep getting better, moving forward and moving forward,” Justin Herbert said. “We saw a lot of progress last week, but the job is to continue to build on that and get better.”

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh added: “Take it one day at a time, one game at a time, one game at a time. But see if we can’t just improve one thing at a time.”

Players have talked in recent weeks about putting themselves in a position to be successful in October and November, as their previous 2-2 record could turn into six or even seven wins by Thanksgiving.

The next step in this plan? The Chargers' first of three scheduled primetime games.

“I love playing primetime games,” Gilman said. “I feel like they shortchanged us a little bit this year with the amount of primetime games.

“But any opportunity to play in prime time is really fun,” Gilman added. “That’s what makes the NFL so special about games like this. You can show up and put in a good performance.”

Khalil Mack added: “The lights are bright, so you have to be ready to perform at a high level because that's what people will remember. Everyone is watching, so we want to make a good impression.”

If the Bolts get to 4-2 in Arizona, they might turn some heads as the NFL's midpoint is just around the corner.

“I can’t wait,” said Derwin James, Jr.. “The whole world will be watching.”
