Register to vote in the November presidential election by October 21 | News

If you plan to vote in the November presidential election, you must register by Monday, October 21 to receive a ballot in the mail. Otherwise, starting Saturday, October 26th, you must go to the Kearny Mesa Registrar's Office in person or visit a vote center to conditionally register and vote provisionally by November 5th.

Registering to vote is quick and easy and can be done online at sdvote.com. You must register to vote if you:

  • are not registered in San Diego County
  • recently moved
  • I changed your name

If your signature is verified by California Department of Motor Vehicles records, your registration will automatically be sent to the registrar's office. If your signature is not confirmed, you can print out the form, sign it and return it to the student office by October 21st, 5:00 p.m.

Registration forms must be stamped or submitted to the registry office by October 21st. Voters can also register online until midnight.

If you do not have access to a computer, you may request a registration form by calling (800) 696-0136 or emailing [email protected].

For voters who require language assistance, election materials are also available in Spanish, Filipino, Vietnamese and Chinese.

Early voting takes place Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the registry office.

If you prefer to vote in person and avoid long lines, starting Saturday, October 26, 39 voting centers will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Over 200 locations will be available on Saturday, November 2nd. Voting centers will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until November 4th. On the last day of voting, November 5th, all voting centers and official ballot drop boxes will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m
