Where are these fall temperatures? Our First Alert 5 Weather Team breaks it down

SOUTHERN COLORADO – We had a warm start to the month of October with temperatures well above average. Normally the average temperature in October at this time is 67 degrees. Pueblo has an average temperature of about 69 degrees. Looking at the last few weeks, we have seen highs in the 80s most days.

In Colorado Springs and Pueblo, temperatures are about 11 degrees above average for this time of year.

Temperatures are expected to remain above average for the remainder of the month. That doesn't mean we won't get cooler temperatures. This means we will most likely experience above average temperatures of 67 (Colorado Springs) and 69 (Pueblo) degrees.

However, looking towards the end of this week, a strong cold front could move through. This would drop weekend highs into the upper 50s for both Springs and Pueblo.

Above average temperatures are expected to continue in the far eastern part of the state

Looking at the weather models for the next few weeks, some of them will have more consistent temperatures that will be closer to average. There are currently more highs in the 60s and 70s in the forecast. That doesn't mean everything is set in stone, and that's where meteorologists need to come in and determine how accurate these models are. Still, we wouldn't be surprised if more of these temperatures play a role.
