Arizona Football vs. West Virginia gets FS1 evening slot

Arizona Football hosts the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday at 4 p.m. MST with an FS1 TV slot, the Big 12 Conference announced Sunday.

The Wildcats (3-4, 1-3) enter the match on a three-game losing streak. They most recently lost at home to Colorado 34-7 on Saturday.

Arizona coach Brent Brennan said the team's problems were “100 percent my fault” and the number of player injuries was “rare air” to him, ABC15's Matt Reynoldson reported on X.

One of those many injuries piling up was junior linebacker Jacob Manu, who was sidelined in the second quarter with a non-contact injury.

Star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan has gone without a touchdown in all six games since posting a 304-yard, four-touchdown performance in the season opener.

The Mountaineers (3-4, 2-2) also suffered a huge loss at home, falling 45-18 to No. 17 Kansas State. West Virginia quarterback Garrett Greene threw two interceptions that led to touchdowns for the second straight game.

Greene, running back Jahiem White and offensive lineman Wyatt Milum did not play in the second half. Coach Neal Brown said after the game that he believed four players suffered head injuries, but did not link them to specific individuals.

“We have a dilapidated locker room, probably the most injuries I can remember in the first half,” Brown said.

West Virginia was limited to 63 total yards in the second half.

Backup quarterback Nicco Marchiol completed 6 of 13 yards and a touchdown in Greene's absence.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
