Speaking to Daily Mail on Sunday, those closest to Liam said he “would have survived” if an ambulance had been called sooner rather than later.

“'If someone had called an ambulance when he collapsed in the hotel lobby instead of taking him back to his room and leaving him there alone and in a psychotic state, he would still be with us.'

They further revealed that “Liam didn't want to die” as he had promised never to commit suicide. According to her, the singer was looking forward to a better future.

Liam Payne's last meal was “chocolate chip cookies”

Before his death, Liam had “reworked” his favorite song “Fireproof” by One Direction on his computer, they said, adding that he had passed psychological and medical exams days earlier, which proved he was “completely clean,” and he came to Argentina to extend his US visa.

They said he was in “good spirits” and was preparing to return home to Miami to meet his girlfriend Kate Cassidy on Friday.

They also revealed that his favorite dessert, chocolate chip cookies, was his last meal.

An investigation into Liam Payne's death is ongoing

On Wednesday at 5:04 p.m., the 31-year-old musician died after falling 45 feet from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room to the terrace below.

In his room, police discovered drugs, including “Cristal,” a powerful psychedelic that causes psychotic episodes and fainting spells.

“Where did Liam get the medication when he had no money?” the source asked.

According to several police sources, investigators believe he was given drugs by someone at the hotel. Reports that the hotel fired at least one employee after conducting an internal investigation could not be verified.

The investigation into Liam's death “is ongoing”, investigators told the Ministry of Defense last night, adding that charges against the drug suppliers were “imminent”.
