NEW YORK(Saturday, October 19, 2024) – Following the culmination of the Major League Soccer regular season on Decision Day 2024, the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs field will be confirmed with Wild Card games scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 22nd and Wednesday, October 23rd. Both games will be broadcast exclusively for free in the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Heading into tonight's contests, four teams were vying for the final two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. No. 8 CF Montréal qualified for the postseason with a 2-0 win over New York City FC. First-half goals from midfielder Caden Clark and striker Josef Martínez sealed the victory in front of a sold-out stadium at the Stade Saputo. Montreal hosts Atlanta United on Tuesday, October 22 (7:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV). Atlanta, which entered Decision Day out of playoff position, moved to ninth place with a 2-1 road win on goals from Saba Lobjanidze and Jamal Thiaré, securing its sixth postseason berth in eight years.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC secured the eighth seed in the Western Conference and will face the No. 9 Portland Timbers on Wednesday, Oct. 23 (10:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV/TSN/RDS). Due to a conflicting event at BC Place and no other venues available in the Vancouver market, the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs Western Conference wild card game between the No. 8 Vancouver Whitecaps FC and the No. 9 Portland Timbers will be played in Portland at Providence Park.

Portland qualified for the postseason for the eighth time in club history and the first time since 2021. Portland star and Landon Donovan MLS MVP candidate Evander will make his first playoff appearance. The Brazilian has recorded a team-high 34 goal contributions (15 goals, 19 assists), ranking him second most this MLS season.

The winners of each Wild Card game advance to the best-of-3 first-round series and face the top seeds in their respective conferences. Supporters' Shield No. 1 winner Inter Miami CF will open best-of-3 first-round action at Chase Stadium on Friday, October 25 (8:30 p.m. ET) in a standalone game, exclusive and will be broadcast for free in the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. The game marks the first appearance of global superstars Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs and will be broadcast live on screens in Times Square in the heart of New York City – shown on SILVERCAST Media's high definition “Mega- Zilla,” a Times Square spectacle featuring a 78-foot by 330-foot digital monster TV display.
