Highlights! UFC fighters put everything on the line in bloodthirsty war

Darren Elkins and Daniel Pineda delivered one of the most entertaining, or at least bloodiest, fights of the year with their fierce performance at UFC Vegas 99 on October 19th.

The two MMA veterans faced off in the opening match of the main card and put everything on the line. Pineda's right eye was almost swollen shut by the end of the first round, which he repaid with cruel punches and punches in the final seconds.

As both fighters entered the second round, the scar tissue began to separate. Elkins, aptly nicknamed “The Damage,” picked up the pace and split Pineda open with his elbows. Known for his relentless pace, Elkins continued to put pressure on Pineda in the third, controlling Pineda on the ground and hitting him in the forehead with more elbows. In the end, Pineda's face was like something out of a horror movie.

Elkins won the fight by unanimous decision 29-28 and Pineda promptly announced his retirement from MMA. Pineda finishes his MMA career with a record of 28-17-0-3 NC, with all 28 wins coming by finish. We will miss his style.
