Titans QB Mason Rudolph starts Sunday against Bills; Will Levis is dealing with a shoulder injury every week

A surprisingly questionable designation has led to an impending absence for the Titans' QB1.

Will Levis will be inactive for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills with a right shoulder injury, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Saturday, meaning Mason Rudolph will start.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport added that Levis is dealing with a Grade 2 AC joint sprain and is being considered on a week-to-week basis, so he could miss more than one contest.

Levis began preparations for Sunday's game on Wednesday as a limited participant in practice, but after practicing fully on Thursday as he had all week prior, it appeared he would likely rest his shoulder following his first return from injury in Week 4 against the Dolphins.

Only Levis was restricted again on Friday, after which he received a questionable expulsion at the beginning of the weekend.

Assuming he initially had a bye in Week 5 to recover, Tennessee's signal-caller didn't see action before the team's eventual 17-20 loss to the Colts in Week 6, a contest that once again highlighted Levis' inconsistencies , as he only completed 59.3 percent of his 27 passes for 95 yards and one touchdown and one interception each.

This effort brought his season totals to 699 passing yards, five touchdowns, seven interceptions and a passer rating of 70.7 with a 1-4 record.
