Aggies hold a slim lead over Mississippi State at halftime

The Texas A&M Aggies headed to Starkville with hopes of earning their fourth straight SEC win, and while their defense conceded a point on the first possession of the game, they are the ones with a slim lead of 21-17 Halftime.

After immediately responding with a touchdown of their own – a 20-yard score to Noah Thomas – the Aggies picked up where they left off at home against the Missouri Tigers, reaching the end zone on three of their four offensive attempts.

Amari Daniels and Le'Veon Moss also found their groove, each scoring a rushing touchdown as part of the Aggies' balanced offensive attack. Moss struck first, Daniels followed, tagging three different scorers with three touchdowns.

At halftime, Conner Weigman was 7/11 efficient and had already surpassed 100 yards rushing on the day. His only blackout through two quarters was a overthrown pass intercepted by Mississippi State's Hunter Washington.

Luckily for him, Jay Bateman's defense returned the favor on the ensuing drive before Texas A&M scored its third touchdown and intercepted Michael Van Buren Jr. on fourth down to give the ball back to Weigman and Co.

Van Buren had a strong half of his own, finishing the game 12 of 17 for 128 yards and two touchdowns. He played a big role in the Bulldogs' surprise run, including the final score of the half that narrowed the lead to just four points.

Once the Aggies come out of halftime, they have a chance to respond first, and if they do, they could build just enough momentum to stay ahead.

If not, things could get tricky down the road.
