Andrew Garfield and Amelia Dimoldenberg talk about their relationship

The moment fans have been waiting for is finally here.

Andrew Garfield made his long-awaited appearance on Amelia Dimoldenberg's hit show Chicken Shop Date. His Oct. 18 appearance comes after Garfield and Dimoldenberg appeared to flirt with each other at the Golden Globes in January 2023.

During a meal together on “Chicken Shop Date,” Garfield admitted that they had “some nice interactions” together in the past. However, Dimoldenberg noted that they hadn't seen each other in a while and teased the actor for “avoiding” her.

“I’m surprised you’re here,” she said.

“I'm surprised I'm here too,” Garfield replied.

Later in the conversation, Dimoldenberg joked that their first meeting was a stroke of fate. Garfield laughed and the two playfully went back and forth before the actor asked if Dimoldenberg thought one of the guests might walk into the date thinking, “This is it.”

“Yeah, right?” She replied, comparing the dates to meeting a significant other at work.

“Yes, and how many of these relationships work?” Garfield challenged her.

Garfield once admitted to flirting with Dimoldenberg, calling their two previous interactions “meeting cute people.”

The two then chatted about their dating etiquette, and Dimoldenberg said she's usually the person to ask someone else out, even though she might get rejected.

“I really appreciate it,” Garfield said. “I think it’s sexy. I think that’s really hot.”

Garfield and Dimoldenberg apparently took the conversation more seriously and discussed whether or not they could actually make a relationship work.

“I think there's something going on,” Dimoldenberg finally said, to which Garfield asked if she seriously believed they would date outside of the show.

“Take out all the practicalities and logic. I actually think we probably could have done it without all of that,” he continued, pointing to the cameras and set.

Garfield later returned to the subject, saying, “I think we had a really nice time off camera.”

In response, Dimoldenberg told Garfield that they should “be friends” before correcting their course. “Did I just friendzone this situation? Ah, I shouldn’t have done that.”

“Unless you want to,” Garfield replied.

“No, I don’t know what I want,” said Dimoldenberg.

The two then agreed that the show date should just be a “practice session” for the real deal.

“I think we should actually do it again and better,” Garfield said of the possibility of another date. “This was just supposed to be a test.”

In an interview with TODAY.com, Dimoldenberg talked about the chances of finding love on her show.

“I've said it before, I don't understand why I couldn't meet someone, like a romantic partner, through the show. Maybe some people think this is really a deception,” she said. “I think part of me really believes that I'm actually trying to get to know someone and fall in love. And I think the show has a real feeling.”
