Donald Trump Jr. brags that his father knows the McDonald's menu better than Harris ever did

Donald Trump Jr. boasted that his father “knows the McDonald's menu a lot better” than the vice president, as the Republican campaign continues to build on Kamala Harris' remark that she once worked at the fast-food chain.

The eldest Trump child lashed out at HarrisJesse Watters Prime time on Wednesday night after watching Harris' interview with Fox News host Bret Baier, in which she claimed she lied about her working-class work experience “to seem relatable and likeable.”

His father is no stranger to a Big Mac and the former president's love for the fast food chain is well documented.

“I think my dad knows the McDonald's menu a lot better than Kamala Harris ever did,” Trump Jr. said.

“I wish Bret had asked which McDonald's she worked at because she'll just tell you whatever you want to hear to seem likeable and likeable.”

Trump Jr.'s claim that his father knows more is part of an ongoing accusation by the former president that Harris lied when she said she had a summer job at McDonald's in California while she was in college.

The vice president told the story to show that she understands people who have low-paying jobs and to explain the benefits of policies tailored to them.

Harris spoke about her summer job during her 2020 presidential campaign and supported McDonald's employees who went on strike in 2019. While Trump has no evidence that Harris is lying about her summer job experience, there is no definitive proof either.

Trump took advantage of this, telling his supporters the story was “fake” and that Harris “never worked at the fast food chain.” Harris has denied this accusation.

Still, the former president used his claim to mock Harris and portray her as a poser. He even promised his fans that he'll work a 30-minute shift at a McDonald's in Philadelphia this weekend so he can say he worked “longer and harder” than them.

The presidential race has now become a battle between the former McDonald's employee and the current McDonald's consumer.

Trump has been a well-known fan of McDonald's for years. As president, Trump provided McDonald's for the Clemson University football team when it visited the White House amid a government shutdown.

Two former Trump administration staffers revealed in a 2017 book that the former president ordered “two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish and a chocolate malt” at the restaurant.

Current submissions from the Federal Election Commission, checked by the Washington Post, revealed that Trump's campaign spent $31,000 at McDonald's between January 2023 and September 2024.

Given Trump's love for the restaurant, there's a chance he knows the menu better than Harris, especially considering the vice president would have worked there more than four decades ago.
