Tom Holland and Zendaya have read a draft script for Spider-Man 4 and have some thoughts on it

The star of the “Spider-Man” series seems excited about the latest sequel, even if he has notes about it.

Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man, talked about this on the Rich Roll Podcast. The actor shared that he and his real-life girlfriend Zendaya, who plays Parker's love interest Michelle “MJ” Jones in the franchise, have read the draft script for Spider-Man 4.

“It takes work, but the writers are doing a great job,” Holland said.

“I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me,” he continued. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we were jumping around the living room sometimes, thinking, 'This is a real movie that deserves the fans' respect.' But there are still a few things we need to figure out before we can really get this going, but it’s exciting.”

The pair starred together in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Holland has also played the role in several other Marvel films, including 2018's “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Holland also spoke about adjusting to the fame that came with his career.

“I’ve been really lucky that my life has slowly changed,” he said during the podcast. “I started when I was really young, and then it took about ten years until the Spider-Man thing happened. The Spider-Man of it all was the big turning point where everything changed.”

This decade gave him time to adapt to the industry, he said, but there was “definitely a steep learning curve.”
