New to DU in 2024-25 Part 1: The Return of Denver Hockey

DENVER – The University of Denver athletic department has significantly enhanced the gameday experience at the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness ahead of the 2024-25 season, a launch highlighted by Homecoming Weekend Oct. 18-19.

“When the Daniel L. Ritchie Center was built in 1999, it was undoubtedly a visionary, state-of-the-art facility. In 2024, our focus was to strategically modernize and renovate elements of the complex that both enhance and preserve the building. “It will remain an elite facility for another 25 years,” said Josh Berlo, vice chancellor for athletics and Ritchie Center Operations. “We believe these changes will positively impact our student-athletes, alumni, fans and all guests while maintaining our high level of academic and broad-based athletic success.”

PROUD OF #TENVER AS HE CHASES THE NUMBER 11
DU will hold the National Championship Banner Raising Ceremony prior to Saturday night's home game against Northeastern on October 19 (5:45 p.m. ceremony, 6:07 p.m. faceoff).

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and take their seats for this special ceremony. During the offseason, Denver moved the placement of its national championship banners to a more prominent location in the arena while also serving as a backdrop for NCHC.TV and CBS Sports Network broadcasts throughout the season.

We raise the flag in Denver's home of college sports
Starting with men's lacrosse last March, proudly competing all summer long after the TENver National Championship, and most recently returning to the flagpole for the No. 1 ranking in men's soccer in Denver in September, we are proud to be our national Recognize elite programs when they are the top-ranked team in the country.

The flag of the No. 1 hockey program is currently flying.

Out with the old, in with the new
A little more than 25 years after the Daniel L. Ritchie Center began providing memories for Pioneer fans, Denver Athletics has replaced and improved seating arrangements throughout Magness Arena ahead of the 2024-25 ice hockey and gymnastics seasons.

While all new seats provide a more comfortable experience, different seating styles have been incorporated into the different pricing tiers of the new configuration to enhance the game day experience as fans sit closer to the ice and floor at Magness Arena.

PREPAID PARKING OPTIONS
We heard your concerns last season and expanded parking options for 2024-25. Fans can now purchase park passes in advance for all events except hockey, gymnastics and men's lacrosse. Parking permits are available online up to 72 hours before the start of the event. Buy early for hassle-free typing, parking and getting to your seat this season.

We upgrade our food and drinks on game day
This season, discover new indoor options to enhance your gaming experience. From the incredibly fast Jimmy Johns to the personal pan pizzas from No One Out Pizzas the Hut, we have new options for you at Magness Arena this season. If you don't want to wait at the stands for it, look for the Grab N' Go options to get back to your seat without missing a second of the action.

A BRIGHTER VIEW AT MAGNESS ARENA FOR THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON
The vibrant lighting ensures a better viewing experience for everyone at Magness Arena.

The University of Denver hired Musco to remodel the lighting fixtures at Magness Arena during the offseason with new LED lighting and lenses. The new schedules are expected to result in a 10 percent brighter game day on the ice and mats at Magness Arena in 2024-25, improving both the fan experience and broadcast presentation.

Under these bright lights shines Denver's new center ice logo to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Denver Hockey. The vibrant logo is complemented by the program's storied past to recognize our championship teams. To commemorate the ten national championships that make DU hockey the top program in college hockey, ten Roman numeral tens were placed along center ice.

ADDED GLAM TO THE GOLD CLUB
A more functional and open Gold Club lobby and the redesigned Hall of Champions highlight this year's innovations at the Gold Club. New branded leather sofas and a large screen television have been added to the lobby to provide a more inviting, easy-to-mingle experience on game days.

The Crimson and Gold lobby has updated graphics and trophies to commemorate track and field's 35 total national championships while celebrating DU's success in women's track and field as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of women's sports in Denver.

Expanded Chef options and “Cocktails of the Game” join Gold Club staples like the Candy Bar to sweeten the Premium section this season.

FRIDAY EVENING IS JERSEY NIGHT ALL SEASON
Throughout the 2024-25 Denver Hockey season, fans are encouraged to wear their favorite DU jerseys for a chance to be featured on the video board. Fans can also “enter to win a Denver hockey jersey” every Friday night.

Is your lucky number not drawn? Fans can bid on game-worn jerseys in the Pepsi Fan Zone or stop by the Pioneer Store located on the northeast and southwest corners of the Magness Arena concourse.

Gameday promotions this season include CC White Outs and Red Out North Dakota on Valentine's Day weekend. Be sure to check Denver's schedule page throughout the season to see upcoming action for your next visit to Magness Arena.
