The Blue Angels return to the First Coast this weekend for the NAS Jax Air Show

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The NAS Jax Air Show, birthplace of the Blue Angels, is back this weekend.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th at the Naval Air Station (NAS).

Gates open at 9:00 a.m. and the show begins at 11:00 a.m. The event is open and free to the public. No tickets are required. Spectators over 18 must show photo ID upon entry.

This year, the Blue Angels have selected seven new officers to join the team for the 2024 air show. Each year there is a new selection for the Blue Angels team at its home base in Pensacola.

“The Blue Angels have built an unparalleled culture of excellence over the past 77 years,” said Cdr. Alex Armatas, commanding officer and flight director of the Blue Angels. “We are thrilled to welcome our newest team members and look forward to the opportunity to represent the United States Navy and Marine Corps in 2024 and beyond.”

The NAS Jax Airshow will consist of a variety of military and civilian demonstrations and conclude with a grand finale by the Navy's flight demonstration team, The Blue Angels, beginning at 2:30 p.m

In addition to the air show, there are fun activities such as military and civilian aircraft displays, a novelty shop, food and a KidsZone for all ages.

There is an ATM on site and it is recommended to bring cash.

There will be a special display for base access, guests and local school children on Friday, October 18th. Anyone wishing to participate with their school is asked to register with the NAS Jax Public Affairs Office at [email protected].
