Watch Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar's final moments captured by an IDF drone

The IDF on Thursday uploaded raw drone footage of attacks and apparent killings of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar by the Israel Defense Forces to its official YouTube account, which the IDF said shows the final moments of the terror group's leader.

The 48-second clip shows a man sitting on a chair, with a note on the screen saying the person is Yahya Sinwar. He appears to be alive throughout the video. The clip ends with him throwing an object at the drone. You can watch the embedded video below.

According to an IDF statement, Sinwar, Hamas' top commander in Gaza, was one of three people killed in an IDF operation in Gaza this week.

The IDF said there were “no signs of the presence of hostages in the area.” According to the IDF, the infantry unit in Rafah encountered and killed Sinwar and two others, without knowing that he was the leader of Hamas.

President Joe Biden said Sinwar's killing was a “good day for Israel, for the United States and for the world” and compared the Gaza chief's death to the killing of Osama bin Laden in 2011.

“Earlier today, Israeli authorities informed my national security team that a mission they conducted in Gaza likely killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar,” Biden said in an official White House statement released Thursday.

“DNA testing has now confirmed that Sinwar is dead. “This is a good day for Israel, for the United States and for the world,” the president added. “For my Israeli friends, this is undoubtedly a day of relief and remembrance, similar to the scenes that unfolded across the United States after President Obama ordered the raid to kill Osama bin Laden in 2011.”

“As the leader of the terrorist group Hamas, Sinwar was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis, Palestinians, Americans and citizens from over 30 countries,” Biden added, remembering those murdered in the Gaza Strip since Hamas. First attack on October 7th. “He was the mastermind of the October 7 massacres, rapes and kidnappings. On his orders, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel to deliberately – and with unspeakable cruelty – kill and massacre civilians, a Holocaust survivor, children in front of their parents, and parents in front of their children.”

Biden continued: “On that day, the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust, over 1,200 people were killed, including 46 Americans.” More than 250 were taken hostage and 101 are still missing. That number includes seven Americans, four of whom are believed to still be alive and being held by Hamas terrorists. Sinwar is the man most responsible for this and much that followed.”
