Dodgers fans are preparing for NLCS Game 4 against the Mets as LA holds a 2-1 lead in the series

The Dodgers take a 2-1 series lead into NLCS Game 4 against the New York Mets on Thursday night, making some LA fans cautious but confident after the team's 8-0 win over the Mets in Game 3.

The Boys in Blue started the National League Championship Series with a home win in Game 1 on Sunday night, but the next day New York tied it in Game 2 with an 8-0 win by Shohei Ohtani a three-run home run when they played at Citi Field in Queens.

As the Dodgers take on the Mets again in New York City, fans back home in LA are hoping for an even bigger lead.

“They kicked ass last night. Thank God,” said Elsa Roldan as she visited Mother Made Donuts in Whittier, where pastries were glazed and dressed up as baseballs with the iconic L.A. Logan. “We were a little scared.”

Roldan was among the fans worried after the Dodgers lost Game 2, just before the team traveled across the country to play at the Mets' home stadium in New York City. But she said she felt much better after Wednesday night's win.

“So tonight they’re going to see it through to the end,” she said.

Max Muncy, who hit his 13th postseason home run in Game 3 to give LA an 8-0 lead and set a franchise record, said the team is ready to take on the challenge if it does, according to MLB going into game 4.

“I think the most important thing is that we have a good mindset in how we handle the postseason atmosphere,” Muncy said. “We have a lot of people who are built for the moment and you saw that.”

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the team remains ready – home field advantage or not.

“These guys are locked up,” Roberts said. “And they understand that their job is to prevent runs. And I think we play good defense too. That’s a big part of it too.”
