Mark Cuban Reveals the Real Reason He's Leaving 'Shark Tank' After Season 16: 'It's Time'

What will Shark tank without being Mark Cuban after season 16? Fans of the franchise are wondering what the business enthusiast is up to after his final season of the show and whether or not he will ever return to television in the future.

“I get asked that a lot now that people know I’m leaving – I doubt it,” Mark said TheWrap on Monday, October 14, when he was asked if he would consider doing another TV show.

But the reason for his exit from the program is quite touching.

“I'm leaving just to spend more time with my children – they're teenagers now. When they were younger, my wife and I were allowed to tell them where and when to be; Now they don’t hear us anymore,” he told the outlet. “We shoot in June and September, and getting the opportunity to spend time directly with them now, when the kids are home from school, is important. I’m tired of missing out on this.”

The Dallas Mavericks owner shares children Alexis, Alyssa and Jake with his wife Tiffany Stewartwhom he married in 2002.

“My whole thing, my whole life has always been time,” he previously said on a podcast. “Money is obviously important, and money can buy time. But the asset I value most is time.”

And while he will withdraw from that Shark tank As a full-time performer, Mark assured fans that he would appear here and there.

“I still need to do updates on the companies I’ve invested in,” Mark said. “So I’ll come back and do my updates and hand it to someone.”

His co-stars will surely miss having him on set every day.

“Very few people know that Mark actually saved the show. The show was supposed to be canceled for the first three years because no one could explain the show. “Where is the money, when do they get the money, do you lose, do you win?”, whatever the case was. So it was really difficult for us to go on national television.” Daymond John revealed. “All the other famous people at the time said, 'I'm not going on stage with five other people that no one knows.'”

Mark appeared on Good morning America on Tuesday, October 15, to discuss his final season as a full-time panelist Shark tank. When asked what it was like filming the final show, Mark admitted it was “weird”.

“It was a great run. I love the show, but it was just time,” he said. “We shoot in June and September when my kids leave school and go back to school, and I've missed that for so long. Now they are teenagers, I just don’t want to miss this time anymore.”

During the interview, Mark also revealed that his favorite investment of all seasons was Dude Wipes. His answer made everyone on set laugh. “Everything is a joke to them,” he said jokingly. “Your business is doing great. They kill it. … They’re taking over the toilet paper category.”
