The Blue Angels are expected to attract 80,000 visitors to the NH Air Show in Pease in 2025

NEWINGTON – The New Hampshire Air National Guard expects a large turnout when the Navy's Blue Angels demonstration team headlines its Thunder Over New Hampshire air show in Pease in 2025.

“The impact of our 2025 air show will be greater than ever as we expect over 80,000 guests over the weekend,” Col. Nelson Perron, commander of the 157th Air Refueling Wing at Pease, wrote in a recent letter to the Pease Development Authority.

Thunder Over New Hampshire – with the motto “Live Free And Fly” – will take place at the Air National Guard Base with the Blue Angels. The date is set for September 6th to 7th, 2025.

According to Perron, there will be an air show practice day at Pease on September 5, 2025.

Perron said the event was “critical to our recruiting efforts, as evidenced by the numerous candidate leads we identified in 2021 and 2023,” referring to past air shows.

“In addition, we are always looking for ways to give back to the community that has continually supported the military and aviation disciplines,” Perron wrote.

To enrich the air show for spectators, the Air National Guard will “simultaneously present the most comprehensive science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) event we have ever hosted,” Perron wrote.

Pease has hosted numerous air shows, most recently in 2023. The Blue Angels will be performing in Pease for the first time since 2012.

Blue Angels have been performing since 1946

The Blue Angels team's goal, according to its website, is to “inspire a culture of excellence and service to the country.”

“We represent the fleet and demonstrate the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps. We look forward to conducting demonstrations across the country, sharing our Navy and Marine Corps experiences with our fellow Americans, and bringing naval aviation to communities across the country that may not have a large military presence.”

The Blue Angels have been performing since 1946 and “showcase the excitement, precision and power of naval aviation.”

Please prepare for the major event in 2025

Perron said he was “seeking support from the Pease Development Authority to stage a successful air show in 2025.”

“We rely on you to allow us to use your land and share your airspace, help us comply with FAA safety requirements, provide us with pedestrian access approvals, develop parking solutions, and be more responsive throughout the planning and execution Communication with us remains the event,” said Perron. “While the event was limited to the air base, NHANG is aware of the impact on the rest of the airfield and its tenants.”

General admission to the air shows is free to the public and does not require a ticket. However, on-site parking requires a parking permit reservation, according to the Thunder Over New Hampshire website.
