Sony is new Karate kid The film hits theaters next May and now we finally know what the film will be called. Sony Pictures announced this on Thursday Karate Kid: Legends will be the official title of the film and reveal the film's logo. The announcement comes ahead of the film's panel discussion at New. Next Friday is York Comic Con at the Empire Stage at the Javits Center. The film will be the sixth overall Karate kid Franchise is scheduled to hit theaters on May 30, 2025.

Not much is known about it at the moment Karate Kid: Legends. The film's development was first announced in September 2022, and then in November 2023 it was announced that both Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan would be returning for the film. Macchio and Chan notably starred in separate parts of the film Karate kid Franchise in which Chan appears as Mr. Han, a Mr. Miyagi-type character from the 2010s The Karate Kid while Macchio played the role of Daniel LaRusso in the original Karate kid and its sequels, The Karate Kid Part II And The Karate Kid Part III and later took over the role for the series Cobra Kai. The cast of Karate Kid: Legends Also starring are Ming-Na Wen, Joshua Jackson, Shauntette Renee Wilson, Sadie Stanley, Aramis Knight, Wyatt Oleff, Jennifer Lyn-Christie and Ben Wang as the newest Karate Kid. How many films are there? The Karate Kid Franchise?

With the publication of Karate Kid: LegacThere will be a total of six films in 2025 Karate kid franchise and the television series, Cobra Kai. The first film, The Karate Kidwas released in 1984 and followed Daniel LaRusso, a teenager from New Jersey who moves to the Reseda neighborhood of Los Angeles with his mother (Randee Heller). When Daniel is finally beaten up by Johnny and his gang, Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita), the handyman in Daniel's apartment, who happens to be a karate master, intervenes and ends up acting as a mentor to Daniel. The film was followed by sequels The Karate Kid Part II in 1986 and The Karate Kid Part III in 1989.

In 1994 The next karate kid was released. Morita reprized his role as Mr. Miyagi. In the film, Mr. Miyagi travels to Boston for a memorial service for Japanese-American soldiers who fought in World War II and meets Julie Pierce (Hilary Swank), the rebellious teenage granddaughter of his commanding officer who suffers from anger issues. Mr. Miyagi agrees to look after Julie. The film also stars Walton Goggins, Michael Ironside, Constance Towers and Chris Conrad.

Then, in 2010, The Karate Kid Got a remake of sorts. The film follows Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) and his mother as they move from Detroit to Beijing, where Dre befriends young musician Meiying at his school but draws the wrath of King Fu prodigy Cheng. After being bullied and beaten up by Cheng, Dre is rescued by his apartment's caretaker, Mr. Han (Chan), who ends up training Dre for a kung fu tournament.

More Cobra Kai coming this fall

While the fans wait Karate Kid: Legacy There are more episodes of this to hit theaters next May Cobra Kai look forward to it. The second part of the sixth and final season of the Netflix series is scheduled to release on November 15th, with five more episodes – Season 6, Part 1, which also consisted of five episodes, was dropped in July. A third part, which will also consist of five episodes, is expected to appear sometime in 2025, probably earlier Karate Kid: Legacy is coming to cinemas. We always hoped that people would respond to the show that way and that we would have the opportunity to tell a story over six or seven seasons. We're just grateful that we had the opportunity to make it the way we envisioned it. So there are some adjustments in terms of these characters, but the kinds of scenes we have in some of these final episodes are very similar to things we've been thinking about for a very long time.”

Karate Kid: Legacy is scheduled to hit theaters on May 30, 2025.
