Jennie came over Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform their latest single “Mantra.” The appearance on the outdoor stage of the late-night show marked the Blackpink singer's US television debut.

During the live rendition of “Mantra,” Jennie and a group of backup dancers performed the upbeat pop song with highly dynamic choreography, with more joining in as the performance progressed.

“Mantra,” released last week, is the first single from Jennie’s new era as a solo artist and will appear on her upcoming second album, having made her solo debut with the aptly named LP in 2018 Solo. It is also her debut for new record label Columbia Records, where she signed in partnership with her own label Odd Atelier.

“It’s the perfect song to start my new era,” Jennie said in a statement. “I think 'Mantra' will make my fans happy but also show a new side of me as a solo artist. The song was inspired by my time recording in Los Angeles and hopefully fans will feel that energy – which is about being positive, being expressive and staying true to yourself. It is full of energy and strength with a message to all my ladies, women and pretty girls out there to love yourself as you are. This is your anthem.”

“Mantra” is Jennie’s first solo release since last year, when she released the one-off single “You & Me.” She also started her acting career with an appearance on HBO The idola show by Weeknd and euphoriaThis is Sam Levinson. She sang on the soundtrack single “One of the Girls” alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp.
