Meta's own social media platforms – Facebook and Instagram – will be available again after a failure Impacting thousands of users worldwide. According to the outage tracking website Down detector.com, more than 12,000 incidents of people reporting issues with Facebook, and over 5,000 reports of issues with Instagram around 1:40 p.m. ET (11:10 p.m. IST).

Users contact X to report an outage

During the outage, Instagram users reported the message “Instagram has encountered an error. Instagram has been closed because this app has a bug. Try updating the app after the developer provides a fix for the error.” Many took to microblogging site X to post about the issue they were facing.

“Okay, the entire #meta is down, so #instagramdown #threadsdown #and #facebookdown Nothing is being posted. This couldn't have happened at a worse time. I've been trying to post all day. I have branded offers for people. “Fix your platforms!” said one user on X.

Facebook users complained that their account was blocked and they couldn't log in. They reported seeing the message “This page is currently unavailable.” This may be due to a technical error that we are working to resolve. Try reloading the page.”

The reason for the failure is not yet known

Meta has now resolved the outage as reports of the outage on Downdetector.com have decreased to 1 or less. However, Meta has not revealed the exact reason for the outage.
Earlier this year, hundreds of thousands of Facebook and Instagram users worldwide were affected by an outage for more than two hours caused by a technical issue. At the peak of the outage, there were more than 550,000 reports of disruptions on Facebook and around 92,000 on Instagram.
