In an interview with “Stern”, the model mom shares details from her private everyday life with four children.

Heidi Klum teaches her children self-love and self-confidence

Female empowerment begins in childhood, emphasizes Heidi Klum. “You should convey a certain level of self-confidence right from the start. My daughters have always heard positive things about me from an early age. Just like that, in everyday life,” explains the 51-year-old and adds: “And of course they copied a lot from each other. It is important to model self-love and self-confidence.

This includes being able to say “no” sometimes, the American-elect makes clear. “My eldest daughter is 20 years old and already on the job market. I told her early on: If there's something she doesn't want to do, if someone asks her to do something she doesn't want to, it's completely “okay to refuse,” Heidi Klum. But it is not only important for women to say “no”, but also for boys. “I try not to raise my daughters any differently than my sons.”

Above all, she focuses on imparting important values when raising her four offspring. “I make sure my children have manners and treat people the way they would like to be treated. “Every person has the same value, you shouldn't be particularly nice to someone just because they seem important, while rejecting someone else who seems less important,” she clarifies. Here too, what is important is what you set an example for. “I don’t actually have to tell them, they observe it in me and how I behave.”

Heidi Klum: “Nothing comes from nothing”

And what did the entertainer set an example for her kids? “Nothing comes from nothing,” she says. “You see how I juggle everything – working and raising four children. You see how things are going – whether we’re cooking at home or I’m on the floor cleaning up after the dogs, whatever happens.”

Believe it or not, Tom Kaulitz's wife, 35, may be simple. “I like to stay down to earth and lead a normal life. At the weekend we have a barbecue and your friends can come over. That's important to me. They should have a home where they can hang out with their friends. Our house is not a museum. You can sit on the couch,” she gave a rare private insight into her family life.
