Lightning is hosting a food and supply drive to support local relief efforts

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning are calling on fans and community members to support their efforts to support local charities by participating in a fundraising event at two upcoming home games. The effort benefits three key community partners: Feeding Tampa Bay, Metropolitan Ministries and the University Area Community Development Corporation (UACDC).

Fans attending the Lightning games on Tuesday, October 15th and Thursday, October 17th can contribute by pre-game starting at 5:00 p.m. in Ford Thunder Alley, directly in front of AMALIE Arena , donate important items. The collection begins before each game and aims to provide critical support to local families and individuals in need.

Donations of the following items are encouraged:

  • Non-perishable foods (Canned fruits and vegetables, canned proteins, peanut butter, granola and granola bars, family-sized juices, long-life milk, dry goods)
  • Manual can openers and packaged plastic utensils
  • Cleaning products (Garbage bags, disinfectant wipes, detergent pads)
  • Hygiene items
  • Diapers and baby food

Fans are encouraged to bring their donations to Ford Thunder Alley before heading into the arena to cheer on the Lightning. Every contribution, big or small, will help to help local families.
