One of the most difficult decisions fantasy managers must make throughout the season is evaluating results in small samples.

By the numbers, Sean Tucker of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was the top running back in Week 6, running for 136 yards and a touchdown while catching three passes for 56 yards and another score. However, he collected most of it in the fourth quarter when starter Rachaad White was inactive and backup Bucky Irving was out for the day.

While Tucker is a good speculative pick if White has to miss another game, there are several better options to add to your roster this week.

Fantasy football players will be added for Week 7

Due to the wide variation in league types and individual team requirements, the players listed here are in the lowest to highest availability rates in Fantrax leagues, which may or may not be consistent with rates on other platforms. (Recommended bid values are based on a $100 free agent acquisition budget for the season.)

WR Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers (21%)

Doubs may have ended up on the chopping block last week after being suspended for one game for conduct detrimental to the team. All seems forgiven after catching two touchdown passes from QB Jordan Love on Sunday. Christian Watson and Jayden Reed are still the main targets, but Doubs is a more consistent option than teammates Dontayvian Wicks and Bo Melton. FAAB offer: $7.

RB Ray Davis, Buffalo Bills (36%)

The injury to another starting running back gave us our first good look at the rookie fourth-year prospect, and what we saw was pretty impressive. Replacing James Cook (toe), Davis capably took the lead with 97 rushing yards (4.9 yards per carry) and 55 more yards on three catches. He appears to have overtaken veteran Ty Johnson as Cook's replacement and should continue to see touches even when Cook returns to full strength. FAAB offer: $15.

WR Gabe Davis, Jacksonville Jaguars (36%)

We have ample evidence that this Davis is the epitome of an all-or-nothing player. Two weeks after recording a single reception for minus-2 yards in Houston, the veteran had his best game of the season on Sunday with five grabs for 45 yards and two touchdowns. The thing is, it could have been even better, but he dropped what would have been a sure third touchdown. It's difficult to start him with confidence, but Davis could be a useful backup later in Week 2. FAAB offer: $6.

RB Kimani Vidal, Los Angeles Chargers (46%)

With Gus Edwards placed on IR, the rookie sixth-round pick saw his first action of the season. He didn't do much on the ground (four carries, 11 yards), but he caught a swing pass with aplomb for a nice 30-yard touchdown. JK Dobbins remains the workhorse, but Vidal will have the opportunity to contribute on a weekly basis with Edwards out. FAAB offer: $5.

WR DeMario Douglas (47%) and QB Drake Maye, New England Patriots (48%)

It's not just their percentages and their uniforms that connect these two. Maye's elevation to the starting role after five weeks behind Jacoby Brissett didn't come at a good time against the powerful Texans, but after a shaky start he looked like a capable NFL quarterback. He completed over 60% of his passes for 243 yards, with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Perhaps more importantly, Maye demonstrated the ability to fight to gain more time in the pocket or turn upfield and run (five carries, 38 yards). Brissett did not exceed any of these yardage totals in any of his five starts. FAAB offer: $3

The Patriots' offense should be a little more productive with Maye under center in the future. Douglas will be the primary beneficiary, as evidenced by his season-high 92 receiving yards and first touchdown catch on Sunday. Maye's big arm opens up the passing lanes for more chunk plays. In fact, Douglas averaged a season-high 10.2 yards on his nine targets, including a 35-yard score. FAAB offer: $11.

RB Dameon Pierce, Houston Texans (52%)

Thankfully, the Cam Akers experiment is almost certainly over. Houston's running game should be a little stronger going forward with Joe Mixon (102 yards, 2 touchdowns) returning from an ankle sprain and Pierce recovering from a hamstring injury. Pierce proved he was ready to go with a 54-yard touchdown dash in the fourth quarter. While Mixon remains the undisputed star cow, Pierce should see plenty of opportunities as the team looks to keep both healthy and available for the remainder of the season. FAAB offer: $6.

RB Isaac Guerendo, San Francisco 49ers (77%)

Guerendo's value will depend on the availability of Jordan Mason and later Christian McCaffrey. If nothing else, his 99 yards on 10 carries against Seattle on Thursday proves that he can be an effective runner when needed. Most of that yardage came for a 76-yard near-touchdown, but the rookie fourth-rounder is valuable as a member of a potent Niners offense — especially this week with Mason on a day-to-day basis due to a shoulder injury. FAAB offer: $9.

WR Tim Patrick, Detroit Lions (92%)

The Lions appeared to be just playing with the Cowboys in Sunday's stunning win. (Don't expect to see multiple plays for offensive linemen anymore this season.) Patrick shared the love, catching all three of his targets for 68 yards with an apparent touchdown catch that was negated by replay. He doesn't really have much value from week to week, but if Amon-Ra. If St. Brown or Jameson Williams miss time, Patrick will have to step up. FAAB offer: $4.

WR Bub Means, New Orleans Saints (95%)

Where is Chris Bermann when we need him? “Boy. Means. Business!” As the receiver equivalent of Bucs RB Sean Tucker, Means had the opportunity to see his first meaningful action of the season during Sunday’s lopsided loss. After top wideout Chris Olave left early with a concussion, the fifth-round pick caught five of fellow rookie Spencer Rattler's eight targets for 45 yards and a touchdown. If Olave doesn't clear concussion protocol, Means could start this week, albeit against a tough Broncos pass defense. FAAB offer: $3.
