The City of Palm Coast's storm debris collection begins Wednesday, October 16th

Following Hurricane Milton, storm debris collection will begin in the City of Palm Coast on Wednesday, October 16th. FCC, the city's regular trash hauler, will conduct its usual yard debris pickup Wednesday, carrying trash packed in bags and containers up to two cubic yards in size. Additionally, the city's Storm Debris Contractor will begin clearing the city that day, using trucks equipped with machinery to remove unpacked storm debris.

It's crucial Keep storm waste separate from regular yard waste. Mixing bagged or containerized trash with storm waste could result in FEMA denying the entire shipment. Please note the following guidelines to ensure successful collection:

Debris Placement Instructions:

  • Place storm debris to the right of the road, but Do not block swales or the stormwater system.
  • Avoid placing dirt nearby Mailboxes or driveways to ensure that machines can access the stacks.
  • Do not store storm debris in bags or containers. The Storm Debris Contractor will use heavy machinery to collect, so loose piles are essential.
  • Do not place debris on vacant lots. It must remain on your residential property.

Debris Separation Guidelines:

  • Vegetative debris: Includes leaves, tree trunks, branches and other plant material.
  • Construction and demolition rubble: Building materials such as shingles, drywall, and lumber resulting from storm damage.
  • Normal household waste: Not included in storm debris removal. Please follow your normal trash pickup schedule.
  • Furniture: Not included in storm debris removal. Please follow the normal process.

Important instructions:

  • There are no size limit Therefore, this weekend is a great opportunity to collect and organize debris for Wednesday's collection.
  • Collection takes place in a passage. If your area is missed, your waste may not be collected. So make sure everything is ready by Wednesday, October 16th.

By following these instructions, residents can help ensure a smooth and efficient storm debris collection process. Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to restore our community.
