Attendees gather to watch the Blue Angels and the final air show – NBC Bay Area

Crowds gathered at San Francisco's Marina Green on Sunday to watch the final air shows of the annual Fleet Week.

The Blue Angels had to cancel their flight on Saturday because the weather made it unsafe. But fans were treated to the show on Sunday and many returned to try and watch it.

“It’s kind of wild. You don't really appreciate airplanes until you see them in person. It's really exciting and beautiful and the weather cooperated so we're having a lot of fun,” said David, a spectator on Sunday.

Cindy McGregor said that while she and her family were unable to see the headliners' performances on Saturday, they were able to enjoy other activities and a boat tour.

“I was like, All right, guys, I guess we'll stay at the hotel and come back here, so let's really pray that the sun stays,” she said. “So we’re back and hoping to see the Blue Angels today.”

Regardless, a parachutist landed on two spectators at Fleet Week on Sunday. According to the Navy, it was not immediately clear what caused the incident.

“Our thoughts are with the individual and his family. Safety is our top priority,” the U.S. Navy said in a statement to NBC Bay Area. “We cannot immediately assess what happened. However, we will review this incident to determine the cause.”

The mother and daughter were evaluated and suffered minor injuries, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. The mother was taken to a nearby hospital for further examination.
