“NCIS: Origins” release date and how to watch without cable

Fans of television's biggest police drama will take a trip back to the early '90s with NCIS: Origins, an all-new series that reveals Leroy Jethro Gibbs' early days on the force.

Rising star Austin Stowell takes on the role of Gibbs in a role previously made famous by Mark Harmon.

NCIS fans will continue to see the veteran actor, with Harmon set to take on the role of the series' narrator, as well as a promised guest appearance – his first on an NCIS show since 2021's Great Wide Open.

CBS

When does NCIS: Origins start?

NCIS: Origins starts in the USA with a double portion of episodes Monday, October 14 at 9pm ET/PT on CBS – right after the Season 22 premiere of NCIS, which airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT. New episodes appear every Monday at the same time.

Watch NCIS: Origins in the USA

If you have CBS on cable, you can watch the show on linear television or live stream via the CBS website. All you need to register is your cable provider’s details. Plus, there's the added bonus of being able to watch previous seasons of NCIS and much more.

You can also stream episodes the next day on Paramount Plus. If you want to watch NCIS: Origins live but don't have CBS, the option includes Paramount Plus with Showtime Live CBS. Cord cutters can also choose a live TV streaming service like YouTube TV or Fubo to stream CBS content without cable.

To be ad-free, you can purchase Paramount Plus with Showtime, which includes advertising for live content and some TV shows. Global television

Canadian crime fans will be thrilled to know that Global will air new episodes of NCIS: Origins at the same time they premiere in the US – that's every Monday at 9pm ET/PT.

If the channel isn't part of your cable schedule, you can still watch “NCIS: Origins” for free by downloading the Global TV app. There you can watch the episodes for free for the first seven days after they air.

The good news for NCIS fans is that this new prequel show will be available Down Under via Paramount Plus.

Paramount Plus offers three main subscriptions in Australia: the ad-supported basic version at AU$7, the standard version at AU$10 per month, which allows streaming on up to two devices simultaneously in HD resolution, and the premium version at AU$14. which allows you to stream on four different devices simultaneously and in 4K resolution.

In addition to access to the NCIS back catalog, including the current spin-off “NCIS: Sydney,” you also get access to series like Yellowstone, South Park, and reality shows like Survivor.

If you're willing to wait a little longer, the show will also be available to watch on free-to-air channel Network 10, with the show premiering on the channel with a double episode on Wednesday October 13 at 8:30pm AEDT . 23.

Can I watch NCIS: Origins in the UK?

There is currently no confirmed broadcaster for this new spin-off of the hugely popular crime series in the UK. If you're traveling to the UK from the US, Canada or Australia and don't want to miss the latest episode of NCIS: Origins, you'll need to use a VPN as described on this page.
