Aidan Hutchinson's sisters react to Lions star's scary leg injury

Aidan Hutchinson's sisters asked for prayers Sunday after the Lions' star defender suffered a horrific leg injury in the third quarter of Detroit's 47-9 win over the Cowboys.

Aria and Mia Hutchinson posted an Instagram message from House of Hutch, Hutchinson's brand and nonprofit partner, to their Stories that read, “Please pray for Aidan” after he suffered a broken tibia.

The post included a photo of the Pro Bowler, who was selected No. 2 overall by Detroit in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Hutchinson suffered the horrific injury early in the third quarter of the Lions' matchup against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The 24-year-old injured his left leg on a play in which he sacked Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and tangled his leg with Lions defensive tackle Alim McNeill.

Hutchinson was subsequently carried off the field with his left leg immobile and taken to a local hospital where he underwent immediate surgery.

Lions coach Dan Campbell said Hutchinson will remain hospitalized in Dallas overnight after undergoing surgery.

Campbell also told reporters that Hutchinson was a leading candidate for Defensive Player of the Year when he broke the news of the athlete's broken tibia.

Although Hutchinson's 2024 season is over, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provided an encouraging update on his status for 2025.

“While Aidan Hutchinson's broken tibia obviously means the end of the season, the initial prediction is that preparation for 2025 should not be a problem. All in all, this is good news,” Rapoport reported on Sunday.

Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone, who has a close friendship with Hutchinson, said they had an emotional exchange before Hutchinson was carried off the field and taken to a local Dallas-area hospital.

“It's just an emotional moment – you don't really remember what you say or whatever, but it's just one of those guys,” Anzalone told the Detroit Free Press. “I have a really close relationship with him and seeing the emotions in that moment and looking someone in the eye in a situation like that is hard, but you're just trying to show that you're there for them and that's what it is.” You think about her.

“Football doesn’t matter, it’s just the disappointment and the discouraging feeling that he probably feels like he knows something is wrong. It’s just hard.”

The Lions (4-1) will face the Vikings (5-0) on October 20th in Minnesota.
