Jim Harbaugh shared details of his condition after the game, stating: “It says Atrial flutter. I fell into an episode. During the Chargers' first offensive drive, he was escorted to the locker room, where medical professionals provided immediate care. Fortunately, the treatment proved effective; His heart rhythm returned to normal shortly afterwards.

Doctors performed an electrocardiogram and confirmed that his heart had returned to sinus rhythm. “I said I felt good, so I got back on the field,” Harbaugh said after the game, reflecting his relief and determination to continue coaching. The seriousness of heart problems was acknowledged when he stated, “It's the heart, so you take it seriously.”
In Harbaugh's absence, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter stepped in as interim coach and ensured the team maintained its focus and momentum. Harbaugh's return came just over seven minutes into the first quarter with the Chargers leading 3-0. He returned to the game with renewed vigor and led the team to a commanding lead that eventually expanded to 23-0 in the second half before the Broncos rallied late in the game.
