Suns' Bradley Beal praises rookie Oso Ighodaro after his recent performance

Oso Ighodaro established himself as a versatile forward in college at Marquette, and the 40th pick is already showcasing that talent early in the preseason with the Phoenix Suns.

Ighodaro had six points, seven rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots in a 105-97 win over the Detroit Pistons at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan, on Tuesday. He made 3 of 5 from the field and was a plus-10 in nearly 21 minutes on the court.

The 1.90 meter tall striker demonstrated all his skills, from hitting the glass to protecting the paint. He also showed off his skills as an offensive connector and his vision on the court, including a no-look pass to Bradley Beal for a 3-pointer in an open corner. Beal was impressed by this piece.

“I know great players who have been in the league for 10 years and can’t do that,” Beal said, via Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic. “Just catch it in the bag, take your time and look at the weak side. I think that's a big testament to Shaka (Smart) and Marquette and what he did with him up there. Then his ability to just want to learn here and here. “I understand him getting minutes like that… He looks really good, he runs and shoots the ball with confidence.

Ighodaro was named to the All-Big East second team last season after averaging 13.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.1 steals on 57 shooting from the field as a junior .6% had achieved. He recorded seven 20-point games, including a season-high 24 points and five rebounds on March 9.

In two preseason games with the Suns, the 22-year-old showcased the qualities that have made him a highly touted prospect. Along with fellow rookie Ryan Dunn, he impressed his teammates in training camp with his work ethic, toughness and ability to contribute, which was on display Tuesday.

Ighodaro got off to a good start with the Suns. He is showing his ability in the early stages and looks ready to play an important role in the team as the season begins.
