Ohio State Buckeyes fall in latest AP poll rankings after loss to Oregon

Following the Ohio State Buckeyes' narrow loss to the Oregon Ducks on Saturday, head coach Ryan Day and his team have slipped to No. 4 in the latest College Football AP Polls.

Since both Oregon and Penn State are two of the Big Ten Conference's three undefeated teams, they occupy the No. 2 and No. 3 spots heading into Week 8. The Texas Longhorns remain the No. 1 team in the state of Oklahoma in the Red following the loss -River Rivalry, 34-3.

Looking at the rest of the Big Ten landscape, the Indiana Hoosiers moved up two spots to No. 16 despite a bye in Week 7. The 6-0 team will be tested in Week 8 when it takes on Nebraska, which is looking to reclaim a spot back in the Top 25.

Illinois was on the verge of losing to Purdue, but was able to pull out an overtime win, 50-49. The Fighting Illinis moved up one spot to No. 22 thanks to a lot of movement in the bottom half of the Top 25. Ultimately, Michigan remained at No. 24 during the bye. The Wolverines will face Illinois in Week 8, which will decide the fate of the two teams in the rankings.

The Buckeyes are bye in Week 8 as this will be a perfect restart for the team. Ohio State's next game will be against Nebraska. Starting quarterback Dylan Raiola will return to Columbus after decommitting from the Buckeyes.
