Travis Hunter injury: Deion Sanders talks about Colorado star's loss after game against Kansas State

Two-way star from Colorado Travis Hunter appeared to injure his shoulder in the second quarter of the Buffaloes' 31-28 loss to Kansas State on Saturday. He was considered questionable but did not return to the game.

After the game, head coach Deion Sanders was asked if he had an update on Hunter and other Buffs wide receivers Omarion Miller And Jimmy Horn Jr.

“No, not one,” Sanders said. “I saw Omari in a boot, some kind of cast. I thank God that we have everything we need here in this wonderful building on the second floor. But I haven't gotten an update on these particular young men. Hopefully they can do it again, but we won't rush them. Their safety and their health are much more important than this game.”

Hunter was seen on the sideline again after leaving the game with his apparent injury, providing some hope that he could return to help his team upset the Wildcats. Coach Prime noted that despite his presence on the sideline, Hunter was never ready to return to the field.

“He was just there to support his team and he did a good job of that,” Sanders said.

Hunter was injured during a game after being tackled. He was taken to the locker room with the athletic training staff before returning to the sideline. According to ESPN sideline reporter Quint Kessenich, he returned to the locker room after a short time.

He ultimately played a total of 44 staps – 23 on offense and 21 on defense. The Colorado star caught three passes for 26 yards during the contest.

Despite losing several members of his receiving corps, Buffs was quarterback Shedeur Sanders completed 34 of 40 passes for 388 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Sanders surpassed 2,000 passing yards this season during the loss.

Hunter's status, as well as Horn Jr. and Miller's status for the Big 12 matchup heading into Week 8 Arizona remains to be seen.
