For Friday's Football Bet of the Day I'm focusing on the Nations League and have highlighted a game that excites me because of the goals.

⚽️ Ukraine 🇺🇦 vs Georgia 🇬🇪

🇪🇺 Nations League

⏰ Friday, October 11th, 7:45 p.m

Two nations that have made different starts to their Nations League seasons meet in neutral Poland on Friday evening when Ukraine takes on Georgia, a game that excites me because of its goals.

Serhiy Rebrov's “hosts” were considered potential underdogs at Euro 2024, but were eliminated at the time, despite picking up four points from the three group stage games.

Since then, the Blue and Yellows have had a difficult start to their Nations League campaign as they were beaten 2-1 at home to Albania on Matchday 1, despite taking the lead early in the second half before falling in the second half Prague lost 3-2 at halftime against the Czech Republic.

Willy Sagnol's visitors were the surprise team of Euro 2024 as they made it to the knockout stages – largely thanks to a shock 2-0 win over Portugal – before falling to eventual winners Spain in the round of 16 eliminated.

The Crusaders made a brilliant start to their Nations League campaign as they beat the Czech Republic 4-1 in front of their fans on Matchday 1 before going to Tirana and defeating Albania 0-1, making it two wins from two brought in.

Bet of the day

Ukraine's first two Nations League games this season were full of goals. A total of eight goals were scored in both games, with over 2.5 goals expected in each.

Looking further back over the last 16 months, you can see that more than 2.5 goals were scored in 18.12 (67%) of Ukraine's games, including eight of the last ten – and considering that this was in ten of the last 15 international matches Georgia's case – I'm excited about the chance that these two nations will score three or more goals in Poznan on Friday evening.
