FearFest is in full swing, Freeform has launched its “31 Days of Halloween” marathon, Netflix debuted Netflix & Chills this year, and Hulu has its own epic “Huluween” event underway. It's an incredible time to be a horror fan and an even better time to just be a general Halloween lover!

Hulu always has a wide selection of horror movies, but the streamer is going all out for the fall season. There are currently several new premieres for Huluween with films like Huluween. Hold your breath, Mister. CroquetAnd Carvedplus new episodes of American horror stories. You can also stream episodes of the currently airing horror drama series grotesque on Hulu the day after it aired on FX.

Overall, it's a really great time to be a Hulu subscriber, and even better if you have the Disney+ package because Disney+ has tons of family-friendly Halloween movies.

Sarah Paulson stars in this new horror film that was just released on October 3rd. In it, she plays a single mother in 1930s Oklahoma who tries to protect her daughter from a dust storm that she is convinced is harboring an evil entity. Hold your breath leans more toward psychological thrillers than straight horror films, but Paulson's projects are always worth checking out because you know she always delivers. She also stars in another Hulu horror film currently streaming: Run.

Set in 1993, Mr. Crocket is both the name of the film and the in-universe antagonist who hosts a children's show with a dark twist. Mr. Crocket enjoys channeling his inner Samara The ring and jump out of the television and kidnap children after brutally murdering their parents. In such a case, the mother watches helplessly as her son is kidnapped and is determined to save him no matter what happens. Mr. Crocket is a new film for Huluween this year, which begins streaming on October 11th.

This campy film follows a group of teenagers trapped in a historical reenactment overnight and forced to fend for themselves when a vengeful and sentient pumpkin attacks. Another new “Huluween” movie, Carved will begin streaming on October 21st.

Spider web was a pleasant surprise from last year that holds up pretty well and is surprisingly comfortable for a horror film. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of scary movies out there, but it's clearly a Halloween movie with all the atmosphere you'd expect. It's ideal for getting into the spooky mood. The story centers on a little boy who hears a mysterious knocking on the walls of his house in the middle of the night. But his parents, played by Antony Starr and Lizzy Caplan, claim not to hear anything, leading their son to believe they must be hiding a terrible secret.

Still a frontrunner for one of my favorite films of this year, The first omen is a fantastic prequel film too The Omen and a surprisingly violent mainstream horror film helmed by an outstanding Nell Tiger Free. This story revolves around a young American woman who moves to Rome to begin her life of service to God and then becomes embroiled in a sinister conspiracy to bring about the birth of the Antichrist.

Yellowjackets Star Sophie Thatcher is quickly becoming an eye-catcher and a rising scream queen with films like this and upcoming titles Heretic And companion. The Boogeyman is based on a short story by Stephen King and is about a family grieving the loss of their mother. Her father (Chris Messina) is a therapist who works from home. One day, one of his deeply disturbed patients comes to an appointment and leaves behind a creature that feasts on the suffering of others.

While American horror stories is not a film, you could almost think of each film as a standalone film in a way, as it is an anthology series where each episode is a new story with a different cast. A spin-off of the long-running parent series American horror storyFive new episodes of this show will be released later this month. So now is the perfect time to catch up!

Parents looking for something to enjoy with their children can stream this popular Tim Burton film. It's a great time considering another popular Burton film: Beetlejuice Beetlejuicewill be coming to PVOD on October 8th! In Edward ScissorhandsWe follow an animated human named Edward who has scissor blades for hands because the scientist who constructed him died before he could finish what he started.

Foreigner has been back in the conversation a lot lately due to the recent acclaim and box office success achieved by Alien: Romulus and the new teaser for the upcoming FX series Alien: EarthSo now seems like the perfect time to return to Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi classic. Hulu is currently streaming several films in the franchise and Alien: Romulus will be released on PVOD on October 15th.

I don't know if it's controversial to say this, but even though I've loved all of Jordan Peele's films so far, Us stands out as a personal favorite thanks to its perfect execution of eerie horror and the powerful performance of star Lupita Nyong'o. As a child, Adelaide experienced something traumatic while on vacation. As an adult, she returns to the same place with her family, including her husband and two children. There, her fear that something bad could happen again grows, and her worst fears come true when four strangers who look identical to her family show up at the vacation home.

I'll take every opportunity to promote Prano Bailey-Bond's 2021 film about a British projectionist who has a reputation for being the strictest “censor” around. We follow Enid (Niamh Algar) at the height of the 1980s video fisy era as she watches horror films and decides what content needs to be cut. Then she watches a strange low-budget horror starring an actress who looks strikingly like her missing sister Alice and falls down a completely twisted rabbit hole.
