As Tuesday's NFL trade deadline approaches, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch suggested that while a roster move is not imminent, the team is actively exploring its options.

“The phones were active,” Lynch told Tim Kawakami The TK Show Podcast. “You always listen, you ask, you answer calls. And last year, I can tell you, Chase Young, we had talked about it probably ten days before, before the deadline, and that didn't happen until the day it happened, and it happened really quickly, and that can happen.

“So we always try to act with intention and see if things fit. We'll see if it happens. I think there's this interesting expectation because we've done it so many times every year that they do it, and that's not the case. They do it when it makes sense and it has helped our team, I have to say.

The 49ers are also expecting reinforcements on the roster with players returning from injury. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-tk-show-49ers-gm-john-lynch-on-trade-deadline/id1640397728?i=1000675670204)
