Welcome to #Big12AfterDark, Wildcat fans. For the second time in three games, we have the latest game on the schedule as our Kansas State Wildcats head west to the mountains to take on a newcomer to the Big 12.

But of course that's not Colorado Really a newbie. From 1948 to 2010, the Buffaloes were Big 7/8/12 conference mates with Kansas State. Colorado was among four teams to defect during the first salvo of the conference's major realignment, fleeing west to the Pac 12 with the promise of higher revenue and a better “cultural fit.” Now we know that none of these things really worked out. And now the buffs are back.

The last time these two teams met on the field, the Dan Hawkins-led Buffs defeated the Cats 44-36 in Bill Snyder's second season after his retirement. Colorado has a 45-20-1 edge over the Cats all-time. But like most records against K-State, it's gotten a lot closer over the last 35 years, with the Buffs going 13-8-1 since Bill Snyder arrived in Manhattan, including a 2-1 lead from Ron Prince .

Chris Klieman will look to put his own stamp on the series for K-State, and the Wildcats should hopefully be better prepared for the late kick and tough away atmosphere. I just can't let mistakes pile up on the road.
