11 Best Apple Prime Day Deals on MacBooks, iPads, and More (2024)

On its own, Apple is not a fan of discounts. Luckily, you can rely on third-party vendors to offer sales on all devices. This is where Amazon comes into play. Amazon's Prime Day sale runs from October 8th to 9th and you'll find a variety of deals on MacBooks, AirPods, iPads and more.

We don't recommend anything we haven't tested and test all year round. Want to read the full reviews? Check out our guides to the best MacBooks, best AirPods, best iPads, and best Apple Watches. You must be a Prime member to access the deals during the sale, which is technically called Big Deals Days. However, you can get a free trial, and Prime offers lots of fun perks. We've compiled the best discounts on our top-rated devices below.

According to rumors, M4-powered MacBooks could launch as early as this month. But the MacBook Pro with M3 only came out a year ago – so it's still a good choice. It has a bright display with a mini-LED panel and a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a 1080p webcam. It also has plenty of ports, including two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, an HDMI port, a MagSafe charging port, a high-impedance headphone jack, and an SD card slot. We recommend it if you're looking for a MacBook Pro without spending $2,000 or more.

The M3-powered MacBook Air (7/10, WIRED Recommends) isn't all that different from the M2 model, but it's a great option—especially if you're looking for a reliable laptop for everyday tasks and a little more. It features a 13.6-inch LCD screen and a notch with a 1080p webcam, while the M3 also offers a significant increase in performance compared to the original M1. You can also use it with two external displays, which is an upgrade over supporting a single external display with the older chips.

This is Apple's latest iPad Pro tablet (6/10, WIRED Review). It features the largest number of upgrades in a long time, including a larger and brighter display, an improved OLED screen and a front-facing camera that has been moved to landscape mode. It is also powered by the M4 chip (launched in May) that delivers smooth and fast performance. It's not too different from the M2-based tablet. So if you don't need the latest version, we still highly recommend the predecessor if it is also on offer.

This is the latest iPad Air (8/10, WIRED recommends), which came out back in May. It is available in two sizes: 11 inches and 13 inches. The latter is not only larger, but also brighter, making it ideal as a second display for work or watching TV. It also comes with an M2 processor (the same one that powers the 2022 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro) that delivers smooth performance. Apple has moved the front-facing 12-megapixel camera to landscape mode, making it less awkward to use during video calls. It features a USB-C port, slim bezels and Touch ID in the top power button.

The iPad (10th Gen) (7/10, WIRED review) is our top choice for most people. It has a large 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display (IPS LCD), a Touch ID sensor integrated into the power button, a USB-C port instead of Lightning and a 12-megapixel rear camera ( an upgrade from the 8-megapixel). The 12MP selfie camera has been moved to the center of the iPad. It is powered by an A14 Bionic chip, which offers slightly faster performance and better graphics than its predecessor.

We no longer think the ninth-generation iPad (8/10, WIRED recommends) is the best for most people (mainly because it's three years old and packs an older A13 Bionic chip). But it's still a solid option if you're looking for a budget tablet. It's affordable and has a ton of great features like 64GB of storage on the base model, a 12-megapixel rear camera (with support for Center Stage), a physical home button with Touch ID, and a True Tone display. It is also compatible with various accessories, including the first-generation Apple Pencil and Apple's Smart Keyboard.

In addition to above-average sound quality – with clear highs, powerful bass and excellent noise cancellation – the AirPods Pro (8/10, WIRED recommends) have a ton of useful features. There's Conversation Detection, which lowers your music and background noise when it detects you're having a conversation, as well as Adaptive Transparency Mode, which combines noise cancellation and transparency to adjust the sound. Thanks to the U1 chip, it also supports the Find My app in case you lose the headphones.

Apple's AirPods Max (8/10, WIRED Recommends) delivers rich bass, fantastic noise cancellation, and a massive soundstage. They also feature excellent build quality, with soft fabric earcups (which are replaceable) and a springy mesh headband. They integrate seamlessly with iOS devices and offer the ability to automatically switch back and forth between iOS devices. Last month, Apple launched a USB-C version. Except for the charging port, they are identical to the Lightning version.

Apple Watch deals

The Series 10 (8/10, WIRED recommends) has only been on the market for a month, but is already on sale. It's our top pick of all Apple Watches. It's thinner and lighter than its predecessor, has fast charging, and supports watchOS 11, giving you access to features like Vitals (to check if you're leaving your baseline every morning) and Training Load (where you can see if you're hitting your leave baseline) how your training affects your fitness). The standout feature, however, is the Breathing Disorders feature, which uses the built-in accelerometer to alert you if you have sleep apnea.

The Ultra 2 (8/10, WIRED recommends) is our favorite smartwatch for outdoor sports. It has built-in precision dual-frequency GPS, offline maps (though you'll need to download them to your iPhone), and the ability to view your bike ride as a live activity on your iPhone. It also has an action button that lets you launch Backtrack (Apple's navigation feature that creates virtual breadcrumb trails in the Compass app that you can follow at home). Performance is provided by the S9 chip as well as an ultra-wideband chip with improved precision search.

The second-generation Apple Watch SE is a great option if you're looking for a simple smartwatch. It doesn't have any fancy features like the ability to check your skin temperature or blood oxygen, but it does have all the basic fitness tracking features and support for watchOS 11. With the S8 chip, you also get the redesigned Compass app. Crash detection and support for international roaming.
